Nitrocellulose Finish: The antiqued Nitro-cellulose lacquer finish allows the Alder body to resonate freely and feel like it has been well worn in for years.

Unrivaled Playability: The 60's C Medium neck profile, medium stainless steel frets, and 9-12" compound fingerboard radius improve upon the playability of vintage instruments, resulting in a neck that is equally comfortable for chording and soloing.

About the Pickups in this Guitar

Every V63 pickup is hand-built, precisely wound (using Suhr's proprietary winding process) and features: plain enamel wire, specially formulated Alnico V magnets, and vintage correct gray fiber bottoms. The V63 also incorporates a modified staggered pole piece design, which provides an even magnetic field that is perfect for capturing those soaring multi-step bends that became an essential ingredient of the classic Strat solo. Another benefit is that they are a great fit for today’s flatter neck radius equipped guitars.

Suhr’s V63 pickups are wound to have the same tonal characteristics as those found by John
Suhr in a particularly sweet 1963 S type guitar. The magnets are made by the same company
that made the magnets for Fender in the early 60’s and have the exact same formulation and
use the same manufacturing process.

V63 pickups incorporate a modified staggered pole piece design to provide an even magnetic field needed to accommodate instruments with flatter neck radius and today’s string gauges.
